Morning | Exchange at Takamatsu Elementary School
In the morning the Taiwanese children joined local children for exchange lessons, ensemble rehearsals and games, with full support from officials of several local offices.

Welcome in the gymnasium
In the school gymnasium the children gathered together, welcomed with flower garlands and the flags of both countries.

Ensemble rehearsal
Instruments and percussion were set up in the middle of the gym, with children from both sides seated around them.

Hosts and guests
Japanese teachers and guests stood beside the children to welcome the Taiwanese students.
Afternoon | Visit to the city council
In the afternoon the city council invited the Taiwanese parents and children to tour the chamber and take photos; the chair and several councillors received them in person. The evening opening ceremony was full, with local leaders and many guests attending.
Welcome with flags
Takamatsu pupils welcomed the Taiwanese students holding Japanese and Taiwanese flags.
Concert for each other
Both sides performed for each other; the Taiwanese schools played in a full orchestral setting with flutes, violins and cellos.
Joining classes
After the gym assembly, small groups joined each classroom. Pupils used English, gestures and translation software to communicate.

Welcome screen
The screen in the gymnasium welcomed the children from the three Taiwanese schools to Takamatsu, with both national flags side by side.
Make your school the next batch
Each batch is a school whose children bring their own music into Japanese classrooms and onto a real stage.
A formal concert-hall performance
Beyond the classroom exchange, students take the stage of a concert hall in Wakayama and perform together with Japanese students.
Certificate of honour and official record
Students receive a certificate of honour and a souvenir at the city council, and the organising committee issues a participation certificate that records the performance and exchange.

Places and schedules depend on the school year and the host schools in Japan. Feel free to ask first.
On the Taiwan side, the Lexuan Foundation co-organises and coordinates the programme as the administrative and communication window for Taiwanese schools — exchange applications, documents, pre-departure preparation and liaison with the board of education in Japan are handled in one place.
